The project adopts the world's first patented technology of “Second-generation syngas high-pressure carbonylation process to produce ethylene glycol” by Shanghai Wuzheng Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., and is responsible for engineering design by Shanghai Ryukyu Engineering Co., Ltd. The total investment of the project is 5.47 billion yuan, and the construction investment is 5.01 billion yuan. The main products are 424,800 tons of ethylene glycol, 34,600 tons of gasoline per year, 125,000 tons of diesel oil per year, and mixed olefins and LNG. After completion, it can realize an annual output value of 3.77 billion yuan, a profit of 1.21 billion yuan and a tax of 500 million yuan. The project is scheduled to go into production in the first half of 2018.
Each unit of the ethylene glycol unit adopts a single set, single line, single reactor technical route. Previously, the first-generation synthesis gas low-pressure ethylene glycol plant of the same scale was generally stacked on a single-line 50,000-ton scale. Compared with the low-pressure process, the high-pressure carbonylation process saves about 50% of the equipment construction investment, the catalyst cost is reduced by more than 50%, the comprehensive energy consumption is reduced by more than 45%, and the comprehensive cost of the ton is reduced by more than 1400 yuan. The device is integrated by polygeneration. The process, in which the cost of ethylene glycol is less than 2,000 yuan, is relatively competitive.
At present, the international oil price is sluggish and it is difficult to change in the short term. The oil price is estimated at 50 US dollars. The oil (EO/EG) route is made of ethylene glycol. The total cost of the gas is about 3,850 yuan. The first generation of syngas is low-pressure ethylene glycol. The cost is between 4,000 and 5,000 yuan, and there is no price advantage.
As a pioneer in the research and development of domestic synthesis gas ethylene glycol technology, Shanghai Wuzheng completed the patent technology transfer of Hualu Hengsheng 50,000 tons/year ethylene glycol plant in 2009, and the device used the first generation of syngas The low-pressure process ethylene glycol patented technology was completed and put into production in July 2012. After Hualu's 50,000-ton/year ethylene glycol plant was put into production, Wuzheng was not eager to continue to promote low-pressure ethylene glycol technology, but instead returned to the laboratory and pilot plant. In the words of Mr. Wang Baoming, the chairman of Shanghai Wuzheng, “the low-pressure ethylene glycol technology of syngas is not really mature, and only large-scale is the way out for syngas to produce ethylene glycol”. Under the joint efforts of many top researchers in Shanghai Wuzheng, after five years of in-depth exploration and painstaking research, the synthesis gas ethylene glycol technology has finally made a breakthrough, the second generation of synthesis gas medium and high pressure carbonylation process The ethylene glycol technology was verified by the long-term operation of the pilot plant. As of the end of 2014, Wuzheng has been authorized to obtain more than 20 patents related to ethylene glycol for syngas. This technology has enabled China's coal-to-glycol process to reach a large-scale scale for the first time. Its largest scale can reach 600,000 tons. Single line capacity. It is foreseeable that in the future, after a batch of projects using the medium-pressure high-pressure carbonylation process technology of the second-generation syngas of Wuzheng will be put into production, it will inevitably subvert the existing ethylene glycol market structure.
